Bay Swallow scores again
Bay Swallow justified favouritism when claiming the August Festival 12th to 15th Fillies Handicap making it her third win on the track.
Danny Grant who was doing the steering looked to be in trouble from over three furlongs out but under a strong drive by Grant the 7/4 favourite responded well to pressure to get up in the closing stages for a narrow win over Forest Minx
Winning trainer Pat Flynn said afterwards: “That’s great, he idles the whole time he’s just a bit lazy but she’ll get her act together.”
“She has serious ability she just might need some side bars [cheek pieces] to help her. “
“She’s a three parts sister to Grey Swallow so she’s very well bred.”
