Bargain buy Logo Hunter will next step up to Listed company following his win in the Cork Racecourse Handicap at Cork today, as last October's 5,000gns purchase scored a popular win for trainer Michael Browne.
Logo Hunter was placed in two 2020 summer maidens for trainer Ger Lyons and having been sold as a cast-off in October, won a Dundalk maiden for Browne in March.
Today the 89 rated son of Brazen Beau scored a ready win under jockey Dylan Browne-McMonagle, to the delight of racing superfan Browne who took out a restricted license “about 10 or 12 years ago” and has four horses.
Browne reported “I thought the race was too hot for him!
“The jockey said he wasn't doing a tap in front and had plenty up his sleeve. He said he was gawking around the place and it's only his fifth run. But he is a very good horse — he's better than I thought he was.
“He has a lovely temperament and it is easy train him. He is a very sweet horse and a child could ride him.
“We got his wind done, a hobday, and that was his problem. In fairness to Ger Lyons, he said if you got his wind sorted out he's a good horse.
“He is owned by a Mayo man Patrick Moyles and he'll probably be sold now. I don't want him sold and would love to go to that six-furlongs Listed race at Navan in a fortnight, but will be trying to sell him for the owner.”
