Ballygill a Popular Winner with the Locals
Adrian Sexton ended a drought going back to November of last year when Ballygill Gale ran away with the www.tote.com Handicap Hurdle to land a little bit of a local touch as the successful breeder and owner, Martin Donnellan and rider, Ian McCarthy come from the neighbouring county of Galway.
Sexton said: "He always promised a lot. My horses are wrong so it's great to get this winner. He'll go to Galway where the owners are from."
Sharp-eared listeners to Galway Bay FM will have benefited from the tip given on their sports news for the ten length winner who was available at 20/1 in the morning and returned a 14/1 chance. The son of Sheer Danzig began his career with Val O'Brien and could be worth following now that he has found the winning habit.
