Champion Trainer Aidan O'Brien completed a 1-2 in the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at Navan today as 13/8f Western Frontier under Seamie Heffernan, beat the Donnacha O'Brien partnered Captainofthebounty (2/1)
Western Frontier, a son of Scat Daddy, made much of the running, and having improved to lead a furlong and a half out, stayed on well to eventually beat his stablemate by three lengths.
Afterwards Heffernan said “the first two are similar horses. My lad is big and possibly a little bit weak but I couldn’t have won any easier.
“All his three runs here are good, and hopefully he ends up being a Stakes horse.”
