Ballivor takes Silken Thomas Handicap
Punters, having the worst of exchanges at a well-attended Friday evening at The Curragh, were again out of luck when 14/1 chance Ballivor got the better of the fancied Motafaany in the Silken Thomas Handicap.
The runner-up encountered traffic problems on his way to a 1/2 length defeat by the Bill Farrell trained Ballivor.
Farrell saw very little of the race as he accompanied his charge to the start. He said afterwards: 'he is not a bad horse, but has had a lot of problems. I got it totally wrong the last day with both trip and ground, thankfully it went right today.'
