Azana rewards Fahy's patience
Pat Fahy's prayers for fast ground have been rewarded recently and the Co Carlow trainer saddled his second winner of the month when his Azana landed the Visit Toals.co.uk Handicap Hurdle at Downpatrick today.
Bumper winner Azana raced in mid-division, and while he was only fifth at the final flight, stayed on strongly to eventually lead close home for a length and a quarter win over Nazdaq
Afterwards Fahy stated "the ground changed to soft after the Galway Festival last summer and things haven't been going well for us since then as most of my horses want better ground. Hopefully now things will change for the better!"
He added "Azana goes on good ground but likes quick ground. He may run in another handicap at Gowran next Wednesday."
