Championship-chasing Colin Keane was headed late-on in the Racing Again November 7th Handicap at Fairyhouse today as the George Webb trained, Conor Hoban partnered Ask Katie scored a length win.
Ask Katie, a five year old daughter of Ask, was today scoring her third career win, each of which has come on testing ground and afterwards Gerry Murray, assistant to trainer Webb, later reported “she ran a cracker at Gowran the last day where she got hampered. She really needs a mile but likes that ground and stayed on well.”
Jockey Keane, meanwhile, on Harry Speed had to settle for second place in the race but crucially his Jockeys’ Championship rival Pat Smullen was also out of luck on Cadrelli who finished seventh leaving Keane four winners ahead (90-86).
