Galileo-sired Ark gained an important winning bracket at Bellewstown today, landing the Meath Farm Machinery (Fillies) Maiden for trainer Aidan O'Brien, owner/breeders Coolmore and jockey Wayne Lordan.
The well supported 11/8 favourite (from 7/4) carried form-figures of '335332' into the race and today made all when beating White Caviar by four and a quarter lengths.
Ballydoyle's Stable representative Chris Armstrong later said "she's a lovely consistent filly and always turns up. She was unlucky the last time in Galway when she just got collared.
"Wayne rides her very well and gave her a lovely ride from the front. She ran a good race here when she was third to Perotan who went on to win a stakes race.
"It's an important bracket to get for her and I suppose we will hunt a bit of black-type now. She's a work-in-progress, is rated 79 and hopefully in some of those Listed or Group races she might nab a place and get the black-type.”
