The Visit Fairyhouse.ie For Christmas Ideas Handicap Chase went to 12/1 chance Arahecan under Dylan Robinson.
The eight-year-old raced towards the head of the chasing group as Kitty Galore and My Manekineko established a break on the field.
He moved into second after three out and was closing on the pace-setting Kitty Galore when the latter crashed out at the second-last. That left Arahecan with a healthy advantage and he stayed on well to defeat the running-on Fighting Fit by five lengths.
This was a second career success for the chestnut who landed a beginners’ chase at Down Royal just under a year ago.
Winning trainer Henry de Bromhead said: “He was due one of those and Dylan was brilliant on him. He’s a big part of our team at home so it’s nice for him to get a winner and for the Brookhouses as well.
“He didn’t seem right in Cork the last day but that was much more like it today. He likes a good dig in the ground and maybe we’ll find something for him around Christmas.”
