Johnny Murtagh provided two of his apprentice jockeys with a winner apiece today at Naas as Nikita Kan completed a double for Friday's Royal Ascot winning trainer, riding Kosman to win the Naas Racecourse Business Club Apprentice Handicap.
The JP Murtagh Racing silks were successful in the 6.00pm race with the Wesley Joyce partnered Misterio and doubled the score with Kosman, which stretched clear in the straight to beat Oneiroi by four lengths.
Murtagh, successful in the Sandringham Stakes with Create Belief, wasn't present and jockey Kane later commented “it's incredible to ride another winner for Johnny and he travelled so well for me. I was delighted, and I trusted the horse that he was going to get home for me. I just believed that he could do it.
“He had loads of ability, he just needs to enjoy himself out there and he really did today. It worked out perfectly.”
