Apples And Bananas (11/4) benefitted from a recent debut run when scoring on his second start today, landing Killarney's Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden for jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle and trainer Joseph O'Brien.
Racing for owners MacLennan/Shanahan/Magnier, the Wootton Bassett-colt made all the running and while pressed by a pair of Ballydoyle-trained, Camelot-sired debutants in the home straight, held on well to score from Puppet Master and Saratoga
Trainer O'Brien's representative Sean Corby reported “he was pretty professional, it was straightforward and he got to the line strong. Dylan was keen to make use of the experience and he was able to jump smart.
“If you are getting that close in a Curragh maiden (finishing sixth on debut), you are a decent horse and Dylan said he was still green in front and was having a look around. He thinks there is more improvement to come and said it was proper quick ground today.”
