Antimatter added to a Ballinrobe bumper win last year when landing the Cashel Handicap Hurdle at Thurles.
The eight-year-old gelding has been placed on a number of occasions in recent months, and kept on well over this 2m7f trip.
Ambrose McCurtin sent the 14/1 chance to the front at the penultimate flight, and he stayed on well on the run-in to score by three quarters of a length.
The well-backed 13/8 favourite Swingbridge came home well in second, with long-time leader Megara just a neck back in third. Mistheatre completed the places another two and a half lengths adrift in fourth.
The winner is trained near Kilfinane, Co Limerick by Donnacha Duggan, who said "He had been knocking on the door and was going up in the handicap all the time and went up 6lbs without a win from his last three runs. He does it well and keeps galloping and wants nice ground.
"I'm not sure if he'll go over fences now or not but we'll see what the owner (Edward McHugh) wants and what the handicapper does with him. That's my second winner after Athloman Cottage won at Tramore in August."
