Jpevie followed up on his maiden win at Bellewstown last week as he took the Ballinrobe On Course Vets Rated Race for in-form trainer John McConnell (fifth winner in the last two weeks) and make it three from three for favourite backers at the Co Mayo venue.
The 3yo son of Amadeus Wolf won his maiden at Bellewtown last Wednesday on his seventh career start and was sent off the 2/1 favourite to follow up this evening.
Having tracked the leaders in third he improved to challenge two furlongs out when travelling strongly.
He hit the front entering the straight and went clear inside the final furlong to record a comfortable two and three parts of a length success. Curl Cat stayed on well to take second at 20/1 under Rory Cleary for his father Tom while Gowran maiden winner Shifting finished a further half a length back in third.
Winning rider Gary Carroll said afterwards: "That was fairly straightforward in the end. He goes through that ground well and he showed gears there.
"John’s horses are in great form. The win the last day was a real confidence booster and I wouldn’t be surprised if he won again."
