Another big Sunday success for Squeaky
Chicago Grey a cracking chasing prospect, gave Alain 'Squeaky' Cawley another big Sunday success (following on from Joncol and Shinrock Paddy) when the course-winning grey proved too strong for the 4/11 favourite, Mourad in the Horse And Jockey Hotel Hurdle.
Gordon Elliott 's charge was in pursuit of Mourad from three out. He ran on in really determined style from the back of the last to get on top close home by a head.
Winning owner, John Earls said: "He might get a break now for a month or six weeks. Unusually for a Luso, he'd actually appreciate a bit of better ground. He has the size and scope for fences and he could go at that game fairly soon.
"Hopefully we'll have many more good days with him when he goes chasing."
Chicago Grey has really come into his own since joining Elliott's Capranny Stables team, this being his third win from four outings for them.
This was a great success for Galway as Earls and Cawley come from the Western county.
