Another Two-Year-Old Winner for Prendergast
Kevin Prendergast had eleven wins from forty seven runners in juvenile events this season going into the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Auction Maiden and the success of Musical Rain for Friarstown increased the yard's strike rate in two-year-old races to twenty five per cent.
Prendergast has sent nineteen youngsters into action and eleven of them have now won - a fantastic percentage of nearly fifty eight per cent.
Sam James, the seven pound claimer who made his name by winning three races on Almass last year, was aboard the daughter of Val Royal and this length and a half win goes down as his fourth career winner.
Musical Rain didn't go unbacked either (touched 9s before returning a seven) and she held off the staying on Fammi Sognare Favourite, Xtraxtra was a length and three parts further back in third.
