Ano Syra added further to her progressive sprinter profile when making it three wins from her last four starts in the €45,000 Sky Bet Junefest Handicap at the Curragh.
The Johnny Feane-trained filly won a Dundalk maiden and a Naas handicap earlier this year and following another good effort in a competitive Naas event, got back in the winning groove here in some style dropping back to the minimum trip.
The well-backed 4/1 chance stretched right away in the final 100 yards for Wayne Lordan to beat a wall of horses by nearly four lengths, with Little Queenie and Beautiful Sunshine taking the minor honours.
Feane said, “That was grand, she keeps improving and I'm delighted with that. It was a nice performance.
“Dropping back to five I was a little bit worried that she'd get outpaced but she travelled great and hit the line strong.
“A bit of black-type at the end would be the crowning glory with her. That was a nice pot and she's been competitive all the time so we're happy.”
