Angel flies in for Moran
Hope Of An Angel the outsider of six runners at 12/1 in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Nursery, landed the spoils for Sligo handler Niall Moran and talented apprentice Martin Harley.
However the Intikhab filly did edge left when striking the front inside the final furlong before going on to beat Act Of Love by half a length.
Connections had a few anxious moments as a stewards enquiry was called into possible interference to well-backed 2/1 favourite Suntan a further head back in third. The placings subsequently remained unaltered.
“She did it well. I was afraid of Bolger's (Suntan) but he needed to be a fair horse to give us plenty of weight. She has plenty of pace but tends to hit a flat spot in races. We'll go for a winners race now at Sligo,” said Moran afterwards.
