Andyourbirdcansing (6/1) had ideal qualifications for Sligo's Hazelwood Mares Maiden Hurdle today and the previously thrice fourth-placed mare won, to continue trainer John Ryan and jockey Shane Fitzgerald's good form.
The 13 runner race was confined to horses which had previously finished unplaced in at least three runs and carrying form-figures of '6054504-4', Andyourbirdcansing made all and held the challenge of Sainte Baol by three-parts of a length.
Trainer Ryan was following up from Friday's Clonmel double, where Fitzgerald also partnered two winners, and the jockey commented “when things are going well it is great and I'm getting great support so hopefully I'll keep it going.
"She's tough, stuck at it very well and going to the last, I knew I'd saved a bit. She dug deep and stayed going really well to the line. John's horses don't know when to stop. He's given me plenty of support over the years and I'm very grateful for it."
