Globe-trotting jockey Ruby Walsh completed a double at Cork today when steering the Willie Mullins trained New Kid In Town to make all and win the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Rated Novice Chase.
Walsh, who won the American Grand National on Rawnaq yesterday, steered The FItz Lady to win an earlier race and added his second on New Kid In Town, a son of Gamut, who scored a one and three parts of a length win over Vinnie Luck
Following the race Champion Trainer Willie Mullins stated “he didn’t jump well at Clonmel but jumped well today and got his confidence back together. I think we could try 2m6f with him again and he looked today like he would go further.
“His pedigree suggests like he won’t be a middle of winter horse and it’s grand that he is winning now.”
