Amana Game under Mullins for in-form Fahy
Pat Fahy, on the mark with Diamond's Return under his son Conor here on Monday, struck again when Amana benefited from a good Danny Mullins drive to take the Dawn Omega Milk Maiden.
Mullins took the initiative on the 3/1 shot before the end of the back straight and he drove the daughter of Diesis clear. The pursuers could never make up the leeway and at the line Amana was two and a half lengths to the good over Shamiran with well-backed 11/10 favourite, Black Coffee a staying on short head back in third.
Fahy said: "She is genuine because she wouldn't have held on there if she wasn't. She had the form to win it but it is easy to say that now. The ground wouldn't have been ideal; her best run was in Leopardstown on good to firm. If I get my way she'll jump a hurdle in time."
