Alstar a welcome winner for Goulding & Joyce
Adrian Joyce enjoyed a welcome turn when the veteran Fivestar Alstars just held-off the late flourish of Heathstead Dream by a short-head in the Event Hire at Naas Racecourse Handicap Hurdle.
This ten-year-old has been a great servant to the Tallow, Co. Waterford yard of Philip Goulding as he supplied them with their first success under Rules. He has won another five since that (including one on the level).
Goulding said of the 20/1 winner: "First time blinkers have sharpened him up. He has been a great servant."
The win of Fivestar Alstars saw the Jackpot pool of 6766.00 Euro carried over to Navan on Saturday.
