Alsalwa outbattles Anam Chara in the finish
Kevin Prendergast's Alsalwa and Declan McDonogh took the one mile fillies' race at Dundalk by a head from Anam Chara and Daryl Byrne. The pair pulled two-and-a half lengths clear of third-placed Plum Sugar
McDonogh was full of praise for his filly. He said: "She's a right mare. I wasn't sure the conditions of the race suited her today. She was a big price though.
"She loved the surface and I think she could take a listed race at Dundalk." Mid Mon Lady the 5/2 favourite finished last. This was her 15th race since June.
