Almadaa & Lynch a combo to be reckoned with

Well-backed favourite Charismas Birthday (4s into 9/4) made a spirited bid from the front in the Steen O'Reilly Solicitors Handicap but she couldn't hold the irresistible late burst of Almadaa under Fergal Lynch.
Lynch has gained many admirers in this country since he began plying his trade on the polytrack at Dundalk and he conjured a fantastic finishing kick from Almadaa to prevail by a head.
David Marnane trains the regularly raced victorious Exceed And Excel gelding, a course and distance scorer in January and Lynch described him as "a nice little horse."
He continued: "We've been going up the rail and relying on luck with him but he came down the middle of the track well there.
"He is going the right way and I'm looking forward to seeing him on grass." (AM & EM)
