Alligator Alley belied a walk in the market to put his rivals away in good style in the juvenile maiden at Navan.
This was the Kingman colt's third start having finished fourth and third in good maidens over six furlongs at the Curragh.
Joseph O'Brien 's charge broke smartly to lead with The Peckhampouncer in a close second, as the pair dictated throughout.
The Peckhampouncer was scrubbed along approaching the final furlong as Alligator Alley travelled powerfully.
Alligator Alley drew clear inside the final furlong to win by a healthy five lengths at 11/4 having opened at 11/10.
The Peckhampouncer could make no impression in the final furlong in second at 12/1, a head in front of Shines Her Light (4/1).
“It was very easy. I think five furlongs is going to be the key to him, I don't think he stays six really,” said Donnacha O'Brien.
“We've bounced and done things right. I'm not sure if it was much of a maiden but he gave me a nice feel today.
“He was behind some proper horses in maidens. Even thought he wasn't getting near to them it was proper, nearly top-class, form in the book.”
