Alandi relishes soft ground in Ballycullen
Alandi bounced back to top form with a commanding performance in the concluding Listed Ballycullen Stakes at Fairyhouse.
Mick Kinane sent the 9/10f to the front under two furlongs out and he went on to beat long-time leader and stable-mate Aliyfa by five lengths.
"He's a different horse when the ground is soft - mind you he was a bit Flat last time at Leopardstown," said trainer John Oxx.
"The plan was to go for the Doncaster Cup as we were looking forward to stretching him out over a longer distance.
"If it looks like being heavy he could run in the Irish St Leger, however. Although if it was good he could miss both."
