Alaivan Impresses in Lenebane
Alaivan a strong 11/10 favourite for the Listed Lenebane Stakes, justified the confidence of his backers with a very professional performance to take the mile and a half contest by three and a half lengths.
On only his fourth start, the Aga Khan gelded son of Kalanisi, took over from a quarter of a mile out and from there on Mick Kinane only had to exert a minimum amount of pressure to dispose of Von Jawlensky by three and half lengths.
Geoff Houlihan, representing winning trainer, John Oxx, said: "He loved the trip and the ground. I'm not sure where he'll go now."
English raider, Hindu Kush found favour with some Roscommon punters (13/2 into 9/2) but after setting the pace he had no more to offer in the straight, weakening into fifth of the six.
