The Colm Murphy trained Aladdins Cave bravely defied top weight to win the concluding Irish Flat race for 2012, the Crowne Plaza Jockey & Trainer Awards Handicap at Dundalk this evening, scoring under Pat Smullen.
Previously successful twice over course and distance, the son of Rainbow Quest defied top weight of 10st1lbs to record a neck win over Bensoon
Afterwards Murphy stated “that was a fair performance with that weight on his back. He is entered over Christmas but we'll probably put him away and wait for better turf ground.”
The winner carries the colours of the Fermanagh based Treasure Hunters Syndicate.
