After wins opener
Trainer Aidan O’Brien got today’s meeting at The Curragh off to his best possible start, when recording a 1-2, with winner After (100/30) and Taigan from both his runners in the opening Dubai Duty Free Double Millionaire EBF Maiden.
Ridden by Ryan Moore, After was patiently ridden before eventually weaving her way through to lead close home, defeating stablemate Taigan by a head.
Afterwards O’Brien stated “we thought After was a nice filly but disappointed at Tipperary the last day and we still don’t know whether it was the trip or the ground being too fast that beat her.”
“I told Ryan about her previous two runs and he rode her patiently. The plan now is to step her up to Listed class but we’ll go gently due to her disappointing run at Tipperary.”
