This means that there are 5 meetings left for the 2009 Flat season before the Flat Championship finale on Friday 27th November in Dundalk. Johnny Murtagh is currently leading with 91 wins to Pat Smullen’s 85. Johnny Murtagh increased his lead over Pat Smullen in the race for the jockey’s championship to six by riding a double at Dundalk last Friday evening, with the pick of the victories coming in the featured listed Irish Stallion Farms EBF Cooley Stakes on the Joanna Morgan-trained Fourpenny Lane. The race was especially notable for Morgan, as she also saddled the second home, San Sicharia. Murtagh had initiated his brace by winning the www.dundalkstadium.com Median Auction Maiden on the Ger Lyons-trained Knights Templar. That win completed a double on the card for Lyons, as he had already saddled the winner of the opening Fairways Hotel Race Nursery in the shape of the Emmet McNamara-ridden One Set
