Action Master of timing
Niall McCullagh delivered favourite Action Master right on the line to deny Joseph O’Brien and Brog An Ri in the first division Bellewstown’s one mile six furlong handicap.
Winning trainer Dessie Hughes has some plans for his five-year-old gelding. He said: “He will probably run next in the Galway Hurdle.
“If he gets the split at the right time there he could have a chance.
“He got his head in front at last here. It was always going to be a race like this that he would win as thats a handicap for maidens.”
The All Gone West Syndicate who own the 4/1 winner are from Galway. Sky Pilot who was backed from 12/1 to 6/1 off course came home third under Pat Smullen at 9/2.
