Acre Spins up to Listed class
Spinacre leaves them trailing at the Curragh

Spinacre looked well out of the ordinary when easily taking her maiden at Roscommon last month by ten lengths and the daughter of Verglas confirmed that impression when making the step-up to Listed class to claim the Flame Of Tara European Breeders Fund Stakes at the Curragh under Chris Hayes.
Clipped in from 4s into 3s this morning, the successful grey went off at that price and she was going to win from over a furlong out, staying on well to eclipse Reglisee by two and a quarter lengths. There was a three and three parts of a length gap back to newcomer Rasmeyaa in third. Favourite Uleavemebreathless (7/2 into 5/2) didn't perform up to expectations (coughing post race) only managing to finish fifth of the seven.
Winning trainer Kevin Prendergast commented: "She's a good filly and she won well. I haven't met the new owners (Ecurie La Boetie, had previously raced for Mrs Lisa Kelly) yet but I'm sure they'll be very pleased.
"I think they got a bargain. She'll probably stay (with me) until the end of the season and then I don't know.
"She'll run in the C L Weld Stakes. The ground suits, she likes an ease." (GC & EM)
