Ach Eye Surely wins for Nolan/Cawley
The Super Sunday 16th May Handicap Hurdle at Limerick was won by the Paul Nolan trained Ach Eye Surely, under stable jockey Alain Cawley.
Cawley produced the son of Val Royal with a well timed challenge, eventually defeating Vino Vino Cavo by a length and three quarters.
Nolan later reported “She jumped well and got a lovely run up the inner. We weren't sure how she'd handle the ground as all her runs were on soft but she coped well,” said Nolan.
“She'll probably have another run in a handicap hurdle and then go chasing sooner rather than later.”
Nolan will have 'about twenty' in for the summer but admitted that this number is about half what he would have had in previous seasons. A clear sign of how the economic downturn is affecting many training yards.
