Absolutlyfantastic delivered on his second attempt at justifying favouritism this week at Killarney, winning the €540 Average Tote Placepot Dividend Maiden for trainer Henry De Bromhead and jockey Bill Lee.
Absolutlyfantastic was a costly failure for punters on Monday having finished second in a handicap chase when heavily supported (15/8 into 11/10f) but made no mistake today winning by a neck from Beyond Berlin
Afterwards De Bromhead, having his second winner of the Festival, stated “he ran a blinder on Monday but just met a better-off horse. This makes up for Monday though and he was good there. Billy (Lee) was super on him and it was a confident ride; he was also delighted with the horse.
“The key to his is the (fast) ground, he has plenty of pace and can mix between Flat, hurdling and chasing now.”
