Shake The Bucket and Tom Madden foil a treble for Seamie Heffernan on Meadow Cross

Irishracing.com statistics make it a profit of 49.71 to a Euro level stake for all of Shake The Bucket s lifetime runs, so it's little wonder his trainer Niall Madden described him as "a little star," after he made it career win number twelve in tonight's first split of the Track Your Favourite Horse On The Paddy Power Messenger Betting App Handicap at Dundalk.
Shake The Bucket began in the point-to-point fields, winning at Dromahane in May 2011, and he's also managed a win over fences on the track - in a Wexford beginners contest.
However the Ashkalani gelding has become synonymous with Dundalk, and under Tom Madden here he won his eighth race at the Dowdallshill venue, edging the duel with Meadow Cross by half a length.
"He'll probably come back here, unless the ground dries up for him over hurdles," reported Madden senior.
