Tom Mullins saddled a great double when an hour and three quarters after Alderwood s Grade 1 success, Some Article impressively landed the Goffs Land Rover Bumper INH Flat Race on his debut with Mark Fahey up.
Always on the gallop, the successful Definite Article four-year-old (an 11,500 Euro buy) stretched on from over a furlong out to beat Catamongdepidgeons by seven and a half lengths. Willie Mullins' Goldboy (7/2 available in the morning into 2/1) couldn't raise his game in the straight and he had to settle for fourth.
Tom Mullins trains Some Article, a 16/1 chance for his wife Helen and he said: "We always thought a lot of him but we thought he was still babyish. His class won it for him.
"He'll come on a lot mentally and physically – he's a big horse with a lot of strengthening up to do.
"I'd say he'd go around again, he came back in that fresh.
"He took it up a bit too early and he must be a hell of a horse on what he's done today with all the hot-pots that were in it."
Mark Fahey, who trained his first winner when The Shrimp scored at Tattersalls Farm point-to-point on Sunday, said: "He stuck at it very well.
"He was very green and he wasn't in love with the ground.
"There is loads of improvement in him and the ground was a bit testing for him – he didn't enjoy it." (GC & EM)
