Last year, when with Pat Martin, Our Max landed his maiden at Laytown. Now with Georgios Pakidis, the grey helped his County Armagh-based trainer to a near 47/1 double, by winning the finale on the beach, the Hibernia Steel (QR) Race.
In the same Patrick McCann silks, that Sean Corby sported on Pakidis' earlier winner, Papabili Patrick Mullins donned aboard Our Max.
Mullins asked the winner to go and take his race from over a furlong out, having travelled well, and he ultimately held the run of favourite, Usa by half a length.
"He won here last year and now this year. He's had little problems off and on and I finally got him right," disclosed Pakidis.
"Hopefully he's well handicapped and we'll get some more out of him at Dundalk."
