After taking the sixth with Edge Of Sanity Jim Bolger and Kevin Manning quickly doubled up in the last, the Microsoft Ireland Maiden, scoring with 20/1 shot Sundara
Ronan Whelan was originally due to partner the son of Galileo, but when Manning's mount, Wexford Town, was taken out due to the going, the change was made.
Out of the 2005 Irish Guineas winner Saoire, the bay colt made virtually all, and he responded well for pressure in the straight, going a couple of length clear two furlongs out, before staying on well to score by three and a half lengths. Marakoush was sent off a 13/8 chance and he finished second under Declan McDonogh for John Oxx, while the 6/4 favourite Felix Mendelssohn could only manage fourth for Aidan and Joseph O'Brien.
Jim Bolger said afterwards: "It was a good ride by Kevin. He is an improving horse and we will see how the handicapper treats him now."
