Hisnameis Mrdevitt won the It's Good To Be Back At Limerick Handicap at Limerick today at odds of 33/1, scoring for trainer Johnny Feane, the Handbrakes Down Syndicate and jockey Gavin Ryan.
The son of Epaulette carried form-figures of '009' into his handicap debut at Roscommon on June 15, which was also his first start for the newly formed Handbrakes Down Syndicate, but in the race ran wide off the first bend before eventually fading to finish eighth.
Today, at 33/1, jockey Ryan weaved his way through horses before improving to lead inside the final furlong when scoring a three parts of a length win over Shona Mea
Afterwards trainer Feane, having his first winner since the resumption of racing, stated “he took out the wall going by the stands the first time around at Roscommon and then he was way too keen.
“We put a tongue-tie on him and that made all the difference. Gavin settled him today, they got a nice run around and quickened up well. He'll improve for it.”
