There was a second J P McManus-owned winner on the final day of the Fairyhouse Easter Festival when newcomer Miracle In Medinah (10/1) landed the concluding 42.ie INH Flat Race under Luke McGuinness.
When the Patrick Mullins-ridden favourite Some Neck hit the front down the inner in the final quarter mile it looked likely that the prize would be his.
Miracle In Medinah and Derrynane came at him from over a furlong out though, and Mullins lost his whip inside the last.
The Gordon Elliott-trained Miracle In Medinah got up close home to beat Some Neck by half a length, with the same distance to Derrynane in third.
"It was a fine ride by Luke and I'd say he's a nice horse. He's one for next year, and I would have been thrilled if he was third or fourth today," said Elliott.
The earlier McManus winner was Coney Island (Eddie Harty and Barry Geraghty).
Ms N. Carberry, rider of Laverteen (FR) trained by Noel Meade, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount stopped quickly in the straight.
