On her initial outing for Jim Bolger, the former Des McDonogh-trained and Mrs Patricia O'Rourke-owned (her husband Colm was present) East Of Tara benefited from the addition of cheek-pieces for the first time when bringing up a double for the Coolcullen team in the Ladbrokes – Where Real Fans Get Rewarded Handicap.
Earlier successful aboard Patrimonium Manning got East Of Tara to the front a furlong and a half out and she kept on well to beat Word For Word (8s this morning into 4s) by two lengths. That one's trainer, Eddie Lynam, leads Bolger 13 – 10 in the winter trainers' championship at Dundalk.
Ger Flynn representing Bolger said: "She'd been going well at home but it was difficult to be confident after her refusal (refused to race at Down Royal in September) last time." (AM & EM)
