Reggae hard as rock
Fresh from the high of riding St Nicholas Abbey to a brilliant win at Doncaster yesterday, Johnny Murtagh was back to the more humble surroundings of Galway for the Corrib Oil Sean Cleary Memorial Auction Race (six years on from the Athlone man's tragic passing). The Meath man certainly earned his fee when getting favourite, Reggae Rock home by a length and a half from second market-choice, Rudi Valentino. Sun 25th OctIcon has Wachman Dreaming
The David Wachman trained Icon Dream, under Wayne Lordan, made a winning debut in the Tipperary Town Businesses & Community Raceday EBF Maiden at Tipperary today. Thu 10th SepReview leopardstown 23rd Jul
She's Our Mark bagged the second Group Three win of her career in the bravest of fashion as she held on to take the Meld StakesThu 23rd Jul
After race at Dundalk Fri, 4th Nov, 2011 (1st)
He won his 2yo race at Galway and he has been so consistent since the handicapper has never dropped him. He runs well on this surface. I am delight to help Johnny out (in his quest for the Jockeys Title). That's probably Johnny's last winner for me this season.
G M Lyons
After race at Galway Sun, 25th Oct, 2009 (1st)
He had to grind it out there and that'll make a man out of him. We thought soft ground around Galway would suit him. Johnny brought Keagan to Ireland so it's good that he let Johnny have the mount in his bid for another title. Reggae Rock will go for a nursery in Leopardstown at the end of the season. We think he'll make a lovely three-year-old.
