Reports in which Red Letter Bray (IRE) was mentioned
Joe McGrath aim for improving Ostraka
Ostraka had received a form boost in the previous race at Navan and bagged a follow up win in style when landing the Rathkenny Handicap. Sat 07th SepPepperpots becomes second 100/1 winner of the evening
One would doubt that there have ever been 100/1 winners of successive races in Ireland but, after Red Letter Bray 15 minutes earlier at the Curragh, Pepperpots went in at the same price when making all in the Dennison Rentals Point-To-Point Flat Race at Downpatrick. Fri 24th MayRed Letter Bray for Liam Cusack at 100/1
Making his stable debut for Liam Cusack after nine months off the track, Red Letter Bray was a shock winner of the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Habitat Handicap. Fri 24th MayBray back for more at Naas
Michael O'Callaghan's Red Letter Bray had to dig deep to gain back-to-back victories at Naas this afternoon. Mon 24th AprO'Callaghan off the mark from new yard with Bray
Michael O'Callaghan's Red Letter Bray just held on in a driving finish to the opening Kuroshio Maiden at Naas this afternoon. Sun 26th MarAuguste survives scare to get job done
Auguste Rodin arguably had to work a bit harder than expected in order to justify short odds in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at Naas. Sat 02nd Jul
After race at Naas Sun, 26th Mar, 2023 (1st)
He’s a nice horse and we have always liked him. He’s pulled a shoe quite badly and Colin thinks he might have done it coming out of the gates and that’s why he was just a little bit awkward,. He’s pretty straight forward at home and Colin thought he’ll get an extra furlong. He was quite green and needed the company when he got it. Nicer ground will suited him better. We had him ready to start but thought he’d improve from the run. I had in the back of my mind that he could be a horse for the seven-furlong Guineas Trial at Leopardstown but it might be a bit soon and he could need some time to get over today with the deep ground and everything. I can see him stepping up to that level. It’s nice to get a winner out of the new yard and good to get that out of the way. We have moved near Brannockstown, about 20 minutes from the Curragh. It’s nice and quiet and the horses are relaxed and they appreciate it. We have two gallops and everything we need and with the Curragh not too far away we have the best of both worlds. We are in a month now. It is always going to take a bit of transitioning and take a bit of getting used to the gallops.
M D O'Callaghan
