Gambled on Serve runs away with feature
The feature race of the evening at Limerick, the Grant Thornton Novice Chase over two miles, went to the 9/2 shot Serve Time for trainer Paul Gilligan. Thu 21st JulQuick double for Carberry in Down Royal
Paul Carberry rode his second winner of the afternoon at Down Royal when steering Cottage Oak in the colours of the Sloan family from Co. Antrim to an easy win in the Sean Graham Bookmakers Beginners Chase. Mon 02nd MayCarberry back in the winners enclosure
Paul Carberry made a welcome return to the winner’s enclosure after he came home in front of the Visit Punchestown.com Maiden Hurdle aboard 11/4 shot Cottage Oak. Wed 26th May
After race at Down Royal Mon, 2nd May, 2011 (1st)
This is a nice horse and he will stay Noive chasing for the moment. This is the first horse I have trained for the owners and I am very pleased we have got off to such a good start. I only have the horse in the yard for 7 or 8 weeks as the owners pre-trained him at home in Templepatrick.
Gordon Elliott
After race at Punchestown Wed, 26th May, 2010 (1st)
I'm delighted for Paul [Carberry] as it's been awhile since he rode a winner, he's had a rough old time of it with injuries. This lad probably should have won at the North, Davy [Condon] got left at the start and then two fell in front of him. Two miles is probably too short for him, he lacks a bit of pace and all he does is stay. He needs quick ground and it's taken me awhile to realise that. He has had a few problems in the past, he went to Cheltenham with a chance and he came home lame, he pulled a ligament.
