Casey Top (7/1 into 3/1) came from the point-to-point fields with a tall reputation and after winning one handicap hurdle the Topanoora gelding got his chasing career off to the perfect start by landing the Tyrrellspass Novice Chase under Paul Carberry at Kilbeggan. He was deputising for the injured Bryan Cooper (finger injury expected to be out for ten days) and he was bringing his score to two on the evening following the win on Tom Horn half-an-hour earlier. Ballyvoile justified 2/1 favouritism after he came home in front of the Emly - Ireland’s Tidest Town 2009 Maiden Hurdle for trainer Margaret Flynn. Tue 06th Oct
He runs well fresh and he won first time out last year as well but didn't win again after that. It's nice to be in the winners enclosure again. We will try and keep him fresh for the season. He might be a bit low to get into any of the big handicap chases but we might run him in a winners of two and then hopefully he would sneak into the Galway Plate.
Leonard Whitmore
He knew his job jumping and jumped well. Carberry gave him a great old spin but the other horse making a mistake at the last was a fair help. He loves that old ground and he'll keep going for the summer. He'll probably come back here or go to the likes of Killarney.
