The Stewards interviewed Patrick J.Flynn, trainer, concerning the failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for Danse Rouge. Evidence was heard from the trainer who stated that despite his best efforts he could not secure any apprentice that could ride at the minimum weight before declarations closed and wished to nominate D.M. Melia now as he had become available due to his original mount having been declared a non runner. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanations offered and allowed the nomination of D.M. Melia. The Stewards interviewed Wesley Hayes, authorised representative of Denis Gerard Hogan, trainer, concerning the failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for Queen Alpha. Evidence was heard from the authorised representative concerned who stated that despite the trainers best efforts he could not secure any apprentice that could ride at the minimum weight before declarations closed and wished to nominate K.J. Leonard now as he had become available due to his original mount having been declared a non runner. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanations offered and allowed the nomination of K.J. Leonard.

An extended handicap for three yrs old and upwards rated 45-70
