Charlotte Bronte was a deserving favourite on her form behind both Listen and Halfway To Heaven last season, and she had just a head to spare over the Ger Lyons trained Tobar Na Hinfe with Johnny Murtagh making the difference yet again.

Wachman's initial reaction was naturally of relief that the Danehill Dancer had put her head in front in maiden company, and she will not be out of place in stakes company when she runs next.

Tobar Na Hinfe was the third horse of the day to narrowly go down to a power packed Murtagh ride but this would appear to be a much better effort than that of his debut behind Dubburg at Limerick earlier in the month.

The slightly better ground may have favoured this Nash Me gelding and it would be no surprise to see him score next time out.

Shauna's Princess was third behind Manhattan Beach on her debut also at Limerick earlier this month and she loomed like a major threat two furlongs out but failed to quicken up with the front two and she was two and a half lengths further back in third.

The Aidan O'Brien trained Giant Among Men stayed on well as he was being niggled along on the turn into the straight and he will undoubtedly appreciate further and like most Ballydoyle runners, the son of Giant's Causeway will come on for the outing.

Mullova came from the rear of mid division to claim fourth spot but the more eyecatching effort was that of Dermot Weld's newcomer Theocritus who left the stalls in an awkward fashion but ran on late in the day to take fifth.

There was a deadheat for sixth between King's Road and another late finishing Vignerlaure Rose.
