the plan was to sweeten him up a little bit this year in this game because he was maybe finding the handicap game a little tough. He was badly handicapped and his Irish National run probably did him no favours the following season and rather than taking on those 30 runner fields, this seems to have sweetened him up a bit. He probably go to Punchestown now and he'll appreciate better ground.

He was very good. He'll not travel over the water and might come back here for Easter and then go to Punchestown,. Jamie thinks he's well up to competing in those now, if the big boys turn up though it could be a different story. He's in the top bracket of what is around at the moment in the hunter chase game. The undulations of Cheltenham and the hype down the start is not his cup of tea. The only couple of times he's disappointed in his life were in big handicaps. We'll try and keep it small and try and get Enda (Bolger) to go somewhere else.

The inclement weather has helped us and the horses are a bit further forward than in previous years. This horse was out for ten weeks and has been back in ten weeks, and it's one thing I remember my father saying that roughly speaking it takes that long to get one ready.

it was very good for a first round of jumping in that he was able to fiddle a few down the back. Things didn't go the way of John Ryan (trainer of Draycott Place) today but they went right for us, and that's racing.
