He's a very difficult horse to place this year, the usual second season novice syndrome. He ran well at Naas last Sunday and, while it was a worry coming back so quick, this looked a winning opportunity. Robert said that after going a mile he didn't think he'd get beaten, and that he was keen to get on with it. He needs a lot of rain to run in the Grand Annual but he's fairly handicapped. If he got yielding ground he'd probably take his chance. He could run at Gowran on Saturday week but Fairyhouse and Punchestown are probably out as the ground would be getting too fast. He has his own method of jumping but he jumped the last like a fresh horse.

he's tough horse and I'm delighted he's back to winning ways. He burst a blood vessel the last day but we treated him and gave him a week off. Thank God he's back to himself and while he's not entered at Cheltenham, Aintree is a possibility.

He loves going left-handed and likes that ground. He may have needed the run last time at Punchestown, and the aim now is Leopardstown at Christmas which will suit him. This was a decent beginners chase.

Robert said he didn't want to go that fast but he was just taking him that fast. He's a brilliant jumper and Robert said he's better going left handed. He's just a real galloper and we'll probably bring him to Leopardstown over Christmas.

We had a plan and it worked out well,. He's a big galloping horse and we decided to use his stride. I ran him over two-and-a-half miles last year and it was a mistake. I'm delighted with him. We'll take it from here. He's a very big horse. He could go for a novice but I have no plans. It was just about getting today out of the way.

That is great because he is a home bred. He is a fine big horse and he just got a bit lonely in front. At the end of the day he'll be a chaser. (EM)
