Reports in which Meetingofthewaters (IRE) was mentioned
The eyes of the racing world will be focussed on Aintree at 4pm on Saturday for what promises to be another pulsating renewal of the Randox Grand National. Here are the thoughts of some of the connections hoping to strike gold in the world’s most famous steeplechase:
Fri 12th Apr
Meetingofthewaters completed a double on the card for trainer Willie Mullins when landing a sizeable gamble in the concluding I.N.H. Stallion Owners Beginners Chase at Cork.
Sun 26th Nov
Jockey of the moment Michael O'Sullivan was again seen to great effect when delivering Meetingofthewaters with a well timed challenge to land the Bar One Racing Handicap Hurdle at Cork.
Sun 11th Dec
Toss Again made virtually all in the McHale Fusion Range Maiden Hurdle, scoring under Rachael Blackmore for Henry de Bromhead.
Tue 31st May
Meetingofthewaters asserted up the hill to land the spoils in the concluding bumper for the father and daughter team of Eugene and Maxine O'Sullivan.

Hopefully the first of many! Brilliant to get the job done. Patrick and Willie do a fantastic job with this lad. I got away nicely down to the first and ran a bit keen so normally in a Paddy Power you are trying to hold your slot, but today I was trying to tuck him back in, switch him off so that I would have petrol late on. The ground had changed from yesterday so the tactics we were thinking of last night were probably turned on their head by today. You just adjust and attack again. The last few days have been a little bit hit and miss in the results for me, but you have to perform when the pressure comes on most. I could see from when I crossed the road down the far side he (James Du Berlais) was within striking distance. I knew my lad had delivered with every jump I had asked for, so I was trying to keep my powder dry. As I passed Paul (Townend on Adamantly Chosen) turning in, he said 'oh, you're going well!' I just said 'I don't know how much I have left'. In fairness to this lad, he hit the line very strong.

. Paddy thought he'd win, he had been working well and was confident coming back to a 0-116 beginners, which was a big drop in class. He was confident enough he'd do the business. I was behind the leader Ideal Du Tabert but I had a look behind and the others were a long way behind. I knew it was an exaggerated gap and I was happy I'd pick up the leader. He had a small scare at the last, that was all. I think he is entered in the (Paddy Power Chase, at Christmas) but this was a 0-116 at the end of the day.
