It was important to get black type for her and, now that she’s got it so quick, we can enjoy the rest of the season. She needed every yard of that and will get further. She won the Red God (Handicap at Dundalk) and we thought she was well handicapped after that, knowing that she would want further, but obviously black type with her pedigree was so important.

It’s a long between drinks with me and Chris. Amourallis was his first big winner and he rode it for me (winning the featured 100,000 seven-furlong handicap on the Sunday of the Galway Festival in 2004), and I think that’s his second winner for me now. She’s a filly I like and you can see the way we protected her. Chris has just said we’ll have great fun with her next year. I’ve always thought of her as a potential Stakes horse but not at three. She’s going to mature over the winter and I’d say that’s going to be it subject to talking to Teddy and the team. I’d like to put her away and look after her for next year. This was a big target to prove whether she was good enough to stay on the team or not. It’s a nice pot to win. She’s still a bit weak but she will stay further. The future is bright for her and it takes a nice three-year-old to win that race. Thankfully the surface is riding well and horses are coming home grand which is the main thing. As far as I’m concerned it’s a Grade 1 track as long as the surface is riding as it should be.

She’s a brave filly but a green filly. Colin said she’s very progressive and will get further so that’s going to open up a lot more doors,. We’re delighted and if she can progress and get another few furlongs that will help her to try and get some black type which is the main aim. She hops off that ground as well.

Cork is good to us. We’re delighted with that. The fillies are just coming to themselves now. Colin said she was green as grass - she’ll come on a tonne for that. Her ears were pricked from the word go,. She had to do it the hard way because he didn’t want it to be a dawdle. He let her use her stride and he knew she’d go on the ground. It was like a piece of work to her today, and the main thing is that she got a bracket — for her breeding and everything, it’s most important. But I think she’ll improve for that and for a step up in trip. Colin said she’s get a mile and a half no problem. It opens up a lot of doors, but we’ll see what mark the handicapper gives her too. We get a thrill out of getting winners in those colours because they were our favourite colours when we were kids, and they’re lovely people to work with.
